My speed was escalating quickly as I went down the hill. Today the pool opened and I couldn’t wait to go down and do some laps. If only mom would let me join swim team! I’d be unbeatable! Nothing, no one, nothing at all could stop me! Heck, I’d even be able to swim in the Olympics! I could just see myself on the pedestal, holding a bundle of flowers, receiving my award!
As I was day dreaming about this, I must’ve not been paying attention, because I went off the sidewalk and into the road. My legs apparently were used to coasting. Next thing I knew I was on the ground. My ankle was hurting badly. I tried crawling away out of the road but a car must’ve been coming because all of a sudden, my left leg was hurting terribly. So bad, I couldn’t move it. The person who was driving the car came out and saw me sprawled out onto the ground.
“Ow… Ow...” I moaned. “Oh my God! Are you okay?” A man emerged from the car and ran right to my side. “I don’t think so…” I replied.
“What’s your name?” The man asked. “Jane, Jane Goldeen. I live up the hill and I was coming down to the pool.” “We need to get you to your house. I can’t take you to a hospital, your parents have to. What’s your address?” “143 Washington Drive. Go up the hill, turn left, second house on the right.” “Okay. I’m going to have to give you a ride. First, I’m going to have to find a way to get you in my car… Hmm… Can you stand up? Which leg is hurt?” “My left one.” “Okay. I’m going to lift you up on your left side. Use your right leg to support yourself. 1… 2… 3… Up!”
The man lifted me up, and it was actually quite easy. We walked over to the car and I climbed in shotgun. “Okay,” he talked to himself. That meant he was actually going to help me. “now let’s get you home.”
Sorry the text is so big! I copy/pasted this from micrsoft documents... And here's a hint for the future:
